Let me start by saying my name is Billie Horn and I am a grateful recovering alcoholic and addict. I just recently celebrated my 4 years of sobriety with my family at The Well. I was asked to share my story due to how I found The Well and how much it means to me.

I want to take a moment to give thanks to my church family.

I want to get out there how comfortable and perfect that this church fits me. I often felt ashamed of what I've been through and what I had done to people. I was afraid that I wouldn't find a church because of the judgment others make about me, my past, etc.  .

I took my kids trick-or-treating in 2014, like I do most years.  Me and my daughter and my niece we went to the Methodist Church for the Halloween thing. I'm sure you guys all know about it.  It's across from the Save-A-Lot here in Leitchfield. So, we went in there and my son played games and trick or treated, nothing unusual for trick or treat places. But as I walked into the front door I was welcomed with open arms I was invited to come to church that following Sunday over at The Well.  The teaching pastor at that time was Todd and the worship leader over there is Shane.  He is amazing! They both are amazing!

Anyway, so me and my boyfriend and kids and our mothers went to church that Sunday.  And I've been there ever since. Not only do I and my immediate family attend, but my mother, my aunt, my sister, her children and their children come too!

I would just love for the people who have been through the struggle of life to know that there is a place in this town that welcomes you with open arms. I have never, never been more accepted for who I am. They don’t judge me. Not at all.  I'm not treated any differently than anyone else.  I don't know how to say it ,I just can't express how amazing it is to have stumbled upon this church through trick or treating! Now they're my family too.

I have been through a lot since I've been attending this church. I've been in a car accident.  I broke my shoulder blade in half, and I had to be off work for 3 months.  During all of my good times, which most of my times are good now, and all of my bad times too, they have thought and prayed and struggled with me and got me through and for that I couldn't be more grateful . The gratitude that I have for just being able to be a part of what they're doing in this County  No, you know what, I can't be more grateful for what WE as a family are doing in this County!

I would love for everyone to feel the way that I feel and to be as comfortable as I am. And to have the family that I got at The Well.  Everybody's welcome come on out and see us.
